Why Does Some Soap Dry Out Your Skin?
هر صابونی پوست را خشک میکند؟ رویکرد نیشا چیست؟
Have you ever washed your hands or face and immediately felt that your skin was tight, rough, or dry?
This feeling depends not only on whether a cleanser is solid or liquid, but also on its formulation and the way it is used.
How Can Cleansing Cause Dryness?
The surface of the skin contains lipids that help maintain its protective barrier and reduce water loss. Cleansers are designed to remove oil and dirt, but overly aggressive cleansing can also remove some of the skin’s natural lipids.
Traditional soap is also generally alkaline. Repeated exposure to harsh or alkaline cleansers may temporarily alter the skin’s surface environment and cause dryness or irritation in some people.
Hot water, excessive washing, and long showers can make the problem worse.
Does Every Soap Dry the Skin?
No. Different soap formulas can feel very different on the skin.
The result depends on the oils and fats used, the overall cleansing strength of the formula, how frequently the product is used, and the individual person’s skin.
Nisha’s Approach
At Nisha, we do not formulate soap with the goal of simply making it clean as aggressively as possible.
Our soaps are built around plant-based materials such as olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, and cocoa butter, with the proportions selected according to the purpose of each formula.
For us, good soap should balance cleansing performance with the way the skin feels after washing.
